Theodore Nikolaou was born in Chalkis, Greece in December 1982. His first contact with investigative journalism was at TA NEA, the Greek daily published by the Lambrakis Press Group. He specializes in social reportage and has undertaken dozens of research projects and missions. Over the years, his interest has shifted towards photography, and an Onassis Foundation grant allowed hit to embark on a years-long journey through ten countries on the Balkan peninsula. He seeks to place Man at the epicentre of all his work. Articles, tributes, projects, images, surveys and interviews of his have been published in the Greek and international media. His photography has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions both in Greece and abroad. He teaches Visual Storytelling at photography and journalism workshops, keen to pass on the knowledge and experience whice others handed down to him with such generosity. His book “Aimos – Wanderings in the balkans” was edited and published in September 2019 for Agra Publications. He is currently working on his next project, which tackles mental health and social stigma.
